Asia Park: Da Nang's Big Wheel and a Continent of Rides in One Park
First Time Stepping into Asia Park – I Didn’t Want to Leave
I still vividly remember the feeling of standing in front of the Asia Park Da Nang gate for the first time on a late afternoon, as the sunset began to paint the Han River sky in gold. The giant wheel – the Sun Wheel – stood majestically like a giant guarding the city, its brightly lit cabins gradually illuminating as darkness fell. At that moment, I wondered: “Am I in Da Nang, or somewhere in the heart of Asia?”
As someone born and raised in this Central region, I witnessed Asia Park from its early days of opening, and I’ve brought countless relatives, friends, and tourists here. And each time I visit, I still find something new, still hear the joyful laughter of children, the excited screams of adults on thrilling rides, and still feel my heart lighten as I sit in a Sun Wheel cabin looking down at the city sparkling with lights.
This review is not a “copy-paste from the website” type of article, but rather a compilation from dozens of my visits to Asia Park – as a local, as a companion to tourists, and sometimes just as a Da Nang resident looking for a relaxing weekend spot. Read carefully, because there’s information here that you won’t find on any other travel website.
What is Asia Park Da Nang? An Overview for Beginners
History and Scale of the Amusement Park
Asia Park is one of the largest entertainment projects in Central Vietnam, located at 1 Phan Dang Luu Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City. This amusement park opened in 2014, a product of Sun Group – the developer behind many iconic landmarks in Da Nang such as the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills, the Ba Na cable car, and numerous other projects.
What sets Asia Park apart from typical amusement parks is its design concept based on Asian cultural themes. The entire park, spanning over 81 hectares, is divided into 9 cultural sub-regions, each embodying the architectural style, cuisine, and atmosphere of a different Asian country or region. You can “travel around Asia” in just one afternoon – from the mystical ambiance of India to the serene Japanese countryside, from the bustling Chinese city streets to the tropical Southeast Asian lands.
But what truly creates the “soul” of Asia Park, something every Da Nang resident is proud to mention, is the Sun Wheel – a colossal sun wheel with a diameter of 115 meters, which was recognized as the third-largest Ferris wheel in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia at the time of its inauguration. It’s not just a ride; it’s a symbol of modern Da Nang.
What Makes Asia Park Different?
Many people ask me: “What makes Asia Park better than other amusement parks?” My answer is always: Asia Park doesn’t just sell rides – it sells cultural and emotional experiences.
When you step in here, you’re not just simply sitting on a seat and waiting to be spun around. You are immersed in an elaborately staged environment, where every street corner, every rooftop, every lantern tells a story of a diverse and rich Asia. This is something that local tourism professionals like myself truly appreciate.
Furthermore, Asia Park operates primarily in the afternoon and evening – this offers a fantastic advantage: you avoid the scorching Da Nang sun (especially in summer), and as night falls, the entire park transforms into an unforgettable, sparkling tapestry of light.

Guide to Getting to Asia Park Da Nang
Location and How to Find the Address
Asia Park is located at 1 Phan Dang Luu Street, Hai Chau District – an extremely convenient location, only about 3-5 km from the city center and 8-10 km from Da Nang Airport. From hotels in the My Khe, Pham Van Dong areas, or the city center, you can reach here within 15-20 minutes.
A little tip from a local: don’t type “Asia Park” into Google Maps as it sometimes leads you to a side entrance or an incorrect spot. Instead, accurately enter “Sun World Da Nang Asian Park” or the address “1 Phan Dang Luu” to reach the main gate.
Why Book a Transfer Service Instead of Driving Yourself or Using Grab?
This is where I want to be direct and honest from my actual experience.
Many tourists visiting Da Nang often use Grab or traditional taxis. This isn’t wrong, but when you come to Asia Park – especially during holidays, weekends, or the peak summer season – you’ll encounter problems I’ve witnessed dozens of times:
Firstly, the area around the Asia Park entrance during rush hour (after 9 PM - 10 PM) frequently experiences localized traffic congestion. Grabs often can’t get right up to the gate, and you’ll have to walk a considerable distance, especially when young children are tired after a day of fun.
Secondly, the issue of unmetered motorbike taxis and unofficial taxis still lingers in this area, particularly targeting tourists unfamiliar with the terrain. I’ve seen many cases where customers were overpriced 3-4 times the normal rate.
Thirdly, if you’re traveling with a family group including young children or the elderly, waiting for a Grab car at night, with no guaranteed seating, and not knowing which car is yours, is truly inconvenient and potentially risky.
Therefore, my sincere advice as a local: pre-book a comprehensive transfer service from Faifo Express – a reputable tourism transport company in Da Nang that I trust and recommend to all my friends and family.
Faifo Express has a team of local Da Nang drivers who understand every road and peak hour in the city. They will pick you up from your hotel, wait for you after your visit, and safely take you back – no worries about losing your ride, no worries about being overpriced, and no worries about children having to wait on the street late at night. This service is especially useful if you’re planning to visit multiple attractions in a day, such as Da Nang Airport transfers, then heading to Hoi An, or visiting Ba Na Hills. Faifo Express can arrange a complete itinerary for your entire trip.
[!TIP] Book your Faifo Express transfer at least 1 day in advance, especially during the summer (June-August) and holiday seasons. The car prices are clear, fixed, and have no hidden fees – something traditional taxis and Grab cannot guarantee during peak hours.
[!WARNING] Absolutely do not use unbranded, unmetered motorbike taxis congregating at the Asia Park entrance in the evening. This is an area where unofficial vehicles frequently operate, especially on weekend nights and festival days.

9 Asian Cultural Zones – A Journey Around the Continent
Asia Park is designed as a “miniature Asia” with 9 unique cultural zones. Each area possesses its own soul and distinct character. Here’s what you need to know about each zone:
India Zone: Stands out with its mystical temple architecture and the vibrant colors characteristic of the subcontinent. This is a trmost checked-in areas due to their incredibly impressive backgrounds. The signature ride here is Himalaya – a high-speed roller coaster simulating a journey across a snowy mountain range.
China Zone: An ancient Chinese urban streetscape with red lanterns and traditional curved roofs. At night, this area is so beautiful that many mistake it for Fenghuang Ancient Town. I particularly enjoy sitting at the tea houses in this zone to watch people go by.
Japan Zone: More peaceful and tranquil than other zones, featuring an artificial cherry blossom garden and traditional Edo-style wooden houses. This is an ideal zone for cosplay photoshoots or simply finding a quiet corner amidst the park’s hustle and bustle.
Southeast Asia Zone: The zone closest to Vietnamese visitors, with architecture characteristic of ASEAN countries. There are many water games here – suitable for children and those looking to cool off during the summer.
Middle East Zone: Distinctive dome architecture and minaret towers create a completely different atmosphere. This is the least noticed zone but offers incredibly unique photo opportunities.
Korea Zone: With the prevailing Hallyu wave, the Korea zone in Asia Park has become a favorite check-in spot for young people. Hanbok rentals are available here at reasonable prices.
Russia – Central Asia Zone: Little known, but this zone boasts the most thrilling rides in Asia Park. The space is wide and airy, less crowded than other zones.

Sun Wheel – The Heart Of Asia Park
I could write an entire article solely about the Sun Wheel and still have more to say. This Ferris wheel is the soul, the symbol, and the main reason many people visit Asia Park.
With a diameter of 115 meters, the Sun Wheel has 64 air-conditioned glass cabins, each accommodating 6-8 people. One rotation takes about 15-20 minutes – enough time for you to admire the entire city of Da Nang from above, from Dragon Bridge, Love Bridge, the sparkling Han River to modern high-rise buildings and the distant My Khe beach.
Local Tip: Ride the Sun Wheel between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. This is the golden hour when the sky transitions from sunset to night – you’ll have the chance to witness both scenes: Da Nang in the twilight and Da Nang sparkling with night lights. If you can only choose one time, this is it.
[!NOTE] On weekends and holidays, the wait for the Sun Wheel can be up to 30-45 minutes. Arrive early or purchase a priority combo ticket to save time. The glass cabins are fully enclosed and air-conditioned, so you don’t need to worry about the heat or strong winds.
Thrill Rides – For The “Adventurous”
Asia Park isn’t just for families with young children. This amusement park has a collection of thrill rides that can satisfy even the most discerning adrenaline junkies:
Boomerang: A boomerang-style roller coaster – you’ll be propelled forward and then pulled back. The screams of riders can be heard from hundreds of meters away. This is the ride I “fear the most but love the most” every time I visit Asia Park.
Drop Tower: A free-fall tower from a height of 45 meters. The feeling of your heart stopping for 3 seconds of freefall is something not every park can offer.
Spinning Coaster: A 360-degree spinning roller coaster – unlike a regular roller coaster, your cabin spins freely according to inertia, and no one can predict its path.how it will spin.
Bumper Cars: Bumper cars – a “timeless” game that both children and adults love. This is the game I often drag my friends into after we’ve finished “screaming” on the thrill rides.
[!WARNING] Individuals with cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, pregnant women, and those who have recently undergone surgery should ABSOLUTELY not participate in thrill rides like Boomerang and Drop Tower. Please read the health warning signs carefully before each ride.
Children’s Play Area – A Paradise for Kids
If you’re traveling with young children, Asia Park is truly a perfect choice. The dedicated children’s play area is designed with bright colors and is absolutely safe, with games suitable for different age groups.
Mini trains, small carousels, ball pits, water games, sandboxes – all are supervised by professionally trained staff. In particular, the outdoor water play area is very popular with children in the summer. Remember to bring a change of clothes for the kids, as they are almost certainly going to be soaked within the first 15 minutes.

What to Eat in Asia Park? Discover Asian Cuisine Right Here
Restaurants and Eateries Within the Park
Asia Park has a quite diverse culinary system, spread across all areas of the park. The interesting thing is that each cultural zone has eateries serving signature dishes from that region – creating a delightful culinary journey alongside your fun experience.
Integrated Asian Food Court: This is the largest dining area, with the most stalls. You can find Japanese ramen, Hainanese chicken rice, Vietnamese pho, Chinese dim sum, and many other Asian street food dishes. Prices range from 50,000 – 180.000đ (≈$7) per portion, which is reasonable compared to the general pricing of high-end amusement parks.
Cafes and Drink Stalls: Scattered throughout the park, you’ll never have to go far to find a place to refresh yourself. Bubble tea, smoothies, juices, coffee – all are available. Especially, the cafes with views of the Sun Wheel in the evening are extremely popular check-in spots.
Local Tip: If you want to save money, have a light meal before entering the park (the area around the Asia Park entrance has many delicious and cheaper eateries than inside). Inside the park, it’s best to just have light snacks and drinks. After leaving, the Han River bank area, not far away, offers countless excellent dining options at much more affordable prices.
“Million-View” Check-in Spots at Asia Park
Top 5 Best Photo Spots
Having “explored” Asia Park countless times, I’ll share the best photo spots that not everyone knows about:
1. The Glass Bridge Overlooking the Sun Wheel: There’s a small bridge on the second floor of the central area that looks directly at the Sun Wheel. This is the best panoramic angle of the wheel, especially effective between 7 PM and 8 PM when the lights are dazzling.
2. Chinese Lantern Street: At night, hundreds of red lanterns light up, creating a space that is both ancient and romantic. This is a perfect background for couple or family photos.
3. Artificial Cherry Blossom Garden in the Japanese Area: Soft pink lights shining through the plastic cherry blossom petals create a beautiful bokeh effect in photos. This spot is particularly loved by young people.
4. Panoramic View from the Sun Wheel Cabin: This is a “no one else can take this photo for you” angle – you have to take it yourself from inside the cabin. Get your camera or phone ready.o with panorama mode to capture the entire Da Nang night scene from above.
5. Indian Zone Entrance: The Gopuram tower architecture with vibrant colors creates a completely different background, “nothing like Vietnam” – which surprises many when they see the photos.
[!TIP] Bring a mini tripod or a selfie stick with a remote. The lighting in Asia Park at night is beautiful but sometimes not strong enough for a regular phone camera. Turn on Night Mode or Pro Mode with a higher ISO for sharper photos.
